hehe and that's only the 1st step in enjoying ARMA
this is why i get all pissy when people complain about the frame rate rather then the insanely steep learning curve involved in playing ARMA. personally i find the command UI system none intuitive and hard to learn. beyond that, you have to get used to the UI for various situations. (car, boat, plane, helo, motorbike, bicycle
) getting used to using the map or compass to navigate such LARGE map is still a challenge. to PROPERLY enjoy ARMA you really need to MASTER every aspect of the game. fieldcraft for snipers, infantry tactics and strategies, guerrilla tactics, piloting various fixed and rotor wing aircrafts, various wheeled and tracked vehicles and a few water crafts. you never know what role you will be called upon to fill when you get into a good game so to enjoy a good game you must be cross trained in all disciplines of warcraft ( no not the blizzard product
i spent all day yesterday explaining to someone that a KSVK is MORE powerful and accurate then a DMR
and there were literally 2 12 year old kids on my team (bluefor) who behave better then some adults
then you have those self entitled people who complains about how the base is not built properly because they died even tho only 3 people on the whole team brought ANY base building material back to the base. and after the base is built, ofcourse you have a few turncoats that just blows everyone/everything up after about 90 min's worth of base building and scavenging. then someone gets the bright idea that moving the base will suddenly make problems like these disappear
NONE of the "issues" involved in playing / enjoying ARMA involved better frame rate. if anything better ping time will allow for better gameplay. framerate is the last thing on my mind when I'm "PLAYING" ARMA. unfortunately people saw the vids for ARMA and thought to themselves, "oh cool they have tanks and jets and helo's, it must be like battlefield
"... and they find out their frame rate is 30fps and start complaining and take development time AWAY from ARMA development and into adding another 3 FPS on their MSI afterburner....
