Cooler Master Storm Trooper Fan LED question

Okay, so like most of you I was trying to fix something that wasn't broken, and I am still yet to be deterred...rolleyes.gif

I was hoping for some help. Basically, when I put my rig into the Storm Trooper the two case fans that had the special LED's that were connected to the on/off switch on the control panel worked fine. I installed a few more LED's and cold cathode lights, and wanted to have that button turn ALL of the lights on and off. As you know there is a spot for a third fan to be hooked up to that switch. My problem was, I did not know if the wire that clipped in for the SWITCH carried current, and if it did how much, or if it was a ground.

Instead of hooking up a voltage meter (or asking here) I just cut it and hooked it up to a 12 volt LED that was grounded. It didn't work.

I did not want to send power through it (and possibly fry the control board) but now the case fans run fine, still work with the stock fan controller, but the LED's are dim, and always on. If I push the switch ON they get slightly brighter, but not much, and when I press the button that should turn the LED's off, they just dim a bit but stay on.

Help!!!!! smile.gif

I need somebody to help me fix this so I can get busy breaking something else...

Thanks

i had the same problem and I wrote to Cooler Master's support and explained the problem. They have great support and just told me that they'll send me a new controller and they did. They said that it would take from one to three weeks and a week later here it is. I just have to replace the broken one. smile.gif
