Is RAID worth it? - Page 3

RAID 0 of 2 drives has a 2x theoretical performance increase but how it scales in the real world i am not sure. it is worth it if you do want greater performance out of your HDD's. Remember tho it offers no redundancy so if a drive fails you lose everything. so it is wise to have a back up drive for data you dont want to or cant afford to lose.

Okay I guess the best thing to do is save for a 256 gb ssd and put my most played / load intensive games and apps on there. And use my hdd for everything else. Since I'll recycle my ssd into my laptop is it wise to use my laptop drive strictly for backups for my desktop?
