Graphics card to run three 1440p monitors?

Thread Starter
Hello,

I am currently running a single u2713hm on one 7950.

I plan on buying two more u27s with my next paycheck and was wondering what a preferred graphics card would be to run these at max in eyefinity/surround.

I know I am going to need more vram, but I am not sure how much. Also, I am not sure if I should be doing an SLI/Crossfire setup.

I am also 20/7 folding on this rig.

The computer is my sig rig.

Card = Titan(single chip)/ 7990(CFX on one card)

Cards= get more 7950s(OC them) in CFX, the 3GB Vram on 7950 are plenty for surrond setups, you just need more than one to supply enough horsepower to get enough FPS.

Don't expect to max anything out (yet) but 7950's are great cards if you don't want to spend 1-2 grand on top of the line cards

Do you think that two 7950's would run well?

What about this 6gb 7970?

If you're planning to plays games like that you will need SLI titans for good settings. It's pretty unreasonable as far gaming is concerned.

i'm using sli 670s for 3x 1440p. haven't had a game yet that i CAN'T run 35-250fps. just depends on what it is.

I run crysis 3 in mp on high with max textures and get 38-45 fps. single player I have to drop it low to medium with max textures because single player is a whole other story...

then there are games like dishonored i ran at 100-140fps...

so really depends on the games, but you will have to lower settings some where...even with sli titans...but thankfully you won't need as much AA with 1440p

but optimally sli titans, but mixture of 680 sli/ 670 sli, 7950/7970 crossfire will still work fine

Since you already have a 7950, why not just CFX with a couple more 7950's?

If you have the money to throw down on 3 1440p monitors, I would definitely go with SLI Titans. If that is too much, you could do 4 GB 680s. I don't run a setup like that, but I max out my 1 GB pretty often on a single 1080p monitor if I'm running AA or graphical mods. Can't imagine what 3 1440p monitors would use in certain games. Probably over 3 GB
