how to clean out cherry mx blues.

Well lets get to the point.
>spilled juice on cmstorm quickfire
> unplugged as fast as possible
>cleaned it out and left for a day
> come back to find it works fine but three keys are sticky and need to be cleaned out

so just wondering if anyone knows how to get the little blue stem out so i can clean it and use the board again with no problems?
I think they actually have to be de-soldered from the board to disassemble a switch properly.

well i think i fixed it. just dripped alcohol in the switches and clicked it 5 times works fine now but, some of the keys lost there clickness. sad-smiley-002.gif

the white part of the stem is probably stuck to the bottom. if you desoldered the few keys that are sticking, crack them open and clean them out really well, you should get the click back.

Had same problem with my Razer. Tried the alcohol and worked for like 5 mins and did nothing. What i did is take the PCB out of the keyboard and washed it with hot water from the tap and a little bush. Then dry it fast so you dont have water left to rust the springs.

I had coke spill and no amount of alcohol, compresses air to blow it out after would fix the problem.

If liquid has soaked the switches, they probably won't ever work quite the same again because you've probably stripped the internal lubricant.

How do you crack the case open? I took 6 screws off (4 corners and 2 by the wire) and I still cannot get it open. Some people say there are 8 screws, then where are the other two?

Anybody has problem in opening up the case for Razer Ultimate? There are none messages regarding the detail of opening up the case.
