There is no fan controller you can fit in the top with a 280 rad that I am aware of. thumb.gif

Ah. Copy that..... biggrin.gif
Yeah, I was maybe seeing if someone made a silicon-only one like that Aquaero, 'cause that's an idea. I guess I don't need knobs, you know?

EDIT: And my other major consideration, and reason for not wanting to shrink my currently selected top fan (read radiator) size is that I've already got fans for it, but more so than that, I've already taken them apart and have stripped them down for painting, so prob. not such good resale rate there, if I were to swap to a smaller radiator footprint!

No... Just, no... Don't say that! That's just crazy talk. Look at how FAT it is. Just, no. tongue.gif
And the other bad thing about it is that the control is rheostat based, so I have to find a place to mount that silly little control box. rolleyes.gif

Maybe there's a bigger benefit to going with a software interface type?

You know what they say....once you go knobless...you never go back. Or...something like that.

Why on earth do you want to turn a knob? Let the AQ5 do it for you. Tell it to spin faster when the machine heats up...and spin slower when it cools down. Then it does the work for you.

Ahhh, but I have a 280 for my drop-in mount! blinksmiley.gif
I'm doing some more research as I have time. Unfortunately, due to work picking up and the raiding schedule tightening up in SWTOR, I have less and less right now!

Thanks - T

T with the AQ5 LT it is all controlled by the software. so no need for buttons or knobs.. take a read of this and see what you think!!

Brilliant! So what does it do during boot when the software isn't doing anything or is it an SoC design that you program outside of the OS?

don't quote me on this but it has a processor that starts controlling everything as soon as it gets the 12v power.. is my understanding of how it works..

you could always try the lamptron touch, i stripped the sides off it and mounted it in the top, ended up 2" deep

ACK! You did what I will end up doing! I'm thinking about this guy, and trying to see how tight I can get those wings to either fold in, cut off, or just plain go away.

As for the build, I fell asleep in my chair scrolling The Chive last night, and barely made my raid, so I'll try again today!
I got my light kit in, Scott!

Thanks - T
