It's up now...

And I'm just not sure, you know?

I mean maybe the next gen will match up, or there's an AMD (GASP!) server chip that can stack up to what I want for less money than a 2x E5-2600 series setup... rolleyes.gif

2011 beter performance and new CPU's coming out for it. I know you can but I have looked at the 2p boards and unless you are going to get top end xeons you will not get much better performance that you will out of a 1p 2011.. the 1P would be able to do everything you said and more and actually you need 2 seperate computers if you want to have a media server to stream HD TV and do it right, it is 2 differant OS really to do it right.

thats my 2cents.gif

I taste it on your mothers skin. LOL! biggrin.gif I'm a 2011 fan myself, and I don't see the next big jump coming until Haswell-E (or whatever it's called). I don't think Haswell is enough of a jump to entice me away from 2011. SB-E is still a relatively expensive platform though, so if I was buying a new system now, and I didn't need quad-channel RAM, I'd probably opt for Haswell.

From an S3 to an MH10, LOL! That's like saying "I was shopping for a fuel efficient commuter car and bought a Nissan Leaf, but changed my mind and got a Mustang with a V8 instead". smile.gif

Get the TX10-d so you can have gaming computer on one side and then have server on other. Haswell for server because it is cooler and 2011 on otherside to game and do other things!!! thumb.gif

Yeah, you wanna get me that better job first, I'm all in!

Got to stay reasonably... well, reasonable!

Financially "reasonable" and "Case Labs" don't belong in the same sentence together. tongue.gif If budget is a factor, I wouldn't go Case Labs. I love my M8, but if $$$ was a factor, I'd have gone Corsair 900D for almost half the price. As long as you don't mind lifting a heavy case, it's a lot more value than a CL.

Not sure that I agree with you. The CL case will last a very long time, so you have to add that into the value equation.

Fair point, but so will the 900D. With all that rad space, it's fairly future proof. Besides, most enthusiasts change their cases whether they're future proof or not. Sometimes we just want something shiny and new. biggrin.gif I LOVE Case Labs gear, I just don't think it's a good bang for the buck case. Lots of bang yes, but lots of buck too. Value is a tricky word in this case.
