Is there a legit program like clean my mac for windows? - Page 4

Back up your HDD programs and whatever you really might want to xfer over (to your new SSD/HDD setup). Then install your SSD into your rig. Boot onto your Windows 7/8 Disc. When you get to the part of drives, format the SSD to be your boot drive, and then format your HDD (or you can wait until you get into your computer after reinstalling your OS. Once you install your OS and boot into your computer, go to control panel -> administrative tools -> computer management -> disk management (on the sidebar). <
Use that method if you want to wait to format your green HDD within the Os itself. Then do what Crazy9000 said with regards to reinstalling your applications and whatnot.

Honestly, getting an SSD even as your boot drive will do wonders for your machine. Core applications and the OS will probably have about a 2min loading difference (I used to be in the same boat as you are with a green drive as my OS drive). For me, I can attest to it being around that much of a difference. If you can afford to get around a 256gb SSD, you will also be able to put extra applications/games that you might want to be loaded really quick. Its a night and day difference. Hope you decide to upgrade to an SSD. Once you do, you damn near never go back thumb.gif

So how long does a process like this usually take?

Also here is a small comparison video of SSD and HDD. It shows the speed that you get compared to HDD:

Through this whole discussion, I must admit, I haven't taken the claims of SSD's being vastly superior very seriously.

I now sit slacked jawed at this video and feel like an idiot.

I am still however quite nervous about doing this for my system.
