New Gaming / Multiboxing Rig 2000 (ish) budget - Page 2

I do actually want to do a loop! I just will have to add it later most likely as that 300+ bucks would throw a wrench into budget of 2000. Then again I could start leaning towards the ish part. And add it in a few weeks and wait to put it together.

Want to do a cpu and gpu loop with the 2/3 cards. But I don't know s$!t about watercooling. Got to read more.

Also figure the 800D is a case that can be used over and over again. Although I still REALLY want the 900D instead just because it is so dang sexy!

On the CPU end, do y'all still think the 3770k is enough if I am running that many clients. I would be assigning 1 core + 1 "imaginary" core per client like core 1+5, 2+6, 3+7, 4+8, 1+6, 2+7, 3+8, 4+5 to each of the clients. So strain on each cpu would add quickly. Thats why having 2 more cores (4 with imaginary or whatever the proper term is) seems like it may be worth the extra 200 bucks or so.

Well, it's up to you, but then you couldn't be able to buy the 800D and two GPUs to fit your budget, well maybe if you get deals and get a smaller SSD... I don't know if anyone has ever tested the difference...

actually what you are trying to do is admirable for me.. running eve clients and using the same rig for gamin will require much power i've to say. If you have the money and you can spend it easily grap the 3930K and overclock it. i think you can hit 5GHZ easily on this one "never tried though".
also yes sapphire are producing some of the best cards in the market this days.
But to be frank your question is a little more than my expertise as i've never used much processing before and it seems like you will have to wait until some one with more experience give you a settling answer.

Appreciate it. Ya I am definitely leaning towards the 3930k, then again I lean back on forth on the two on the hour every hour. biggrin.gif

But it seems like spending the extra money now might create some longevity for the rig.

I really am actually hoping I can find one on some forums for 450 or somewhere in that range. If there was a microcenter near me I would consider picking it up there for the 500.

The chip would have to be absolutely golden do to that. Only with delidding you might reach 5GHZ which i honestly wouldn't do on 500$ chip rolleyes.gif

Also on the RAM, should I stick with 1600 or get 2133?

What would be the benefit of either. My RAM knowledge is lacking apparently.
Naah, there's basically no difference on the intel side of things. Maybe 3-4fps higher in games...
but for the threads he is using Epikk . will he benefit from the higher ram?

From more ram yes, but for faster ram, nope.
I don't know exactly how much you need. so maybe get 16gb first and then upgrade to 32gb if you feel the need.

Alright appreciate it guys y'all are being a big help here.

Any suggestions on a potential loop for the 3930k and 2-3 cards? (Ignoring the fact it is going over budget)
