Well for the moment Im very much into Diablo 3. The prefered resolution is 1920x1080 (1080p right?) as my monitor runs at that resolution and I like to run windowed fullscreen. Im at the lowest settings across the board right now and run ~30 fps in heavy duty situations and up to a full 60 fps in town and such situations.
Im currently have a supportticket up at EVGA's homepage to get expert advice about how to adjust settings to optimize my 650Ti (not gonna bash on their support, but the first reply I got was hardly in english and very difficult to understand what he was talking about...), but I have done some very uneducated tests and deducted that my new graphic card wasnt fully utilized because of my old/slow CPU. Please correct me if Im wrong.

Well reading through this review of Diablo 3 performance, I would conclude that it is in fact your CPU that is bottlenecking you.

As others have stated, I would do a platform change. MB+CPU+Ram (if you dont have DDR3).

I'd just overclock that cpu..Have you tried to unlock it?
I wouldn't even stick a real quad-core in the board.
Overclock as much as you can and call it good thumb.gif

That review has totally passed me by, incredibly enoguh. Thought I scanned the whole internet for information about D3 stuff...
How does that comparison translate to my current CPU though? If a Phenom quad would have an avarage fps of 112.7 and Im at 60 MAX right now (at the absolute lowest settings both ingame and in Nvidias control panel), that must mean my Athlon 250 is incredibly, for lack of a better word, sucky? That really determines it: Im getting the Phenom!
Upgrading MB and CPU is next in my tasklist, but need a higher, more stable income first smile.gif

One of my earlier questions remains unanswered though: Can I "multitask" much more with a x4 than my x2? As in watch video, streams and play at the same time? I mean, is one core handeling the stream, another the video and so on, or are the cores working together and splitting up the workload, or do they work in another way? This question is a bit offtopic but Im very curious if getting twice the cores will double the speed of my computer, if you know what I mean. I can ofc google it or search for an answer here, but my ability to learn is almost completely limited to stuff related to myself smile.gif

Yeah Schmuckley, that was my original thought. I've always been curious about overclocking but very cautios aswell, Im afraid to fry my whole system if I start mucking about with voltages and frequencies. So I try to do my homework and while I've been monitoring this thread I dug a little deeper here on OC.net and found this page: http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database
There I found my MB and it said: GF615M-P33 4-phase No 95W Not for OC and some other stuff...

If a Phenom is such a big upgrade Im gonna stick to that. It's worth 120$ to have a faster comp, being able to play my (currently) favorite game and have the peace of mind to know that if the rig catches fire it's not because of ME! smile.gif
I do have a spare case to put all the leftovers in when I buy a new comp or can upgrade the one I have, and THEN I can play around and learn how to oc but for now I dont dare to. Im a big chicken!

Grab the quad and use it as long as you can. At the point that it doesn't work good for you overclocked, it's time to build a new pc. The quad will handle anything you do better for the most part, unless it is a single threaded program.
