Those are the motherboard tray standoffs, usually just called 'standoffs'. If the standoffs are not screwed into the motherboard tray tight enough, what happened to you happens. Whoever built your computer didnt screw them in tight enough. This isnt a fault of the case or motherboard, its the person that built the machine without assembling it correctly.

I believe they are called "metal backplate inserts". Yes, if they are not properly inserted into the backpanel plate, they would just spin when screwing. When installing they need to be aligned with the holes in the plastic backplate just right, and then pushed in. That will pretty much lock them in place, but they can just as easily be pushed back out when screwing the waterblock into place from the other side. If that happens one could try turning them with a pair of needle nose pliers, turning, pushing and then 'locking' them back into place.

Other than following Antec's instructions you probably did nothing wrong as they can easily push out again when screwing in the pins. thumb.gif

With installing the new one, i did hold down the inserts so they dont pop out or rotate with the screw, it was a challenge but its done.

i finally replaced it with a new one, its not loud and the psu is whats loudest, but maybe because i just started it or, there is a subtle snoring sound though or sound of someone smoking a pipe, but its not as majorly disturbing as the first one and temps are 33c in bios. Wonder if it will stop snoring?

Shake it around a little. Watch my video for an idea of how it should sound

Well i guess it sounds like that, maybe more agitated. All i know had there been a heatsink fan in its place it would be making less noise. whn you say shake it, do i do that as its running? I had the older antec for older rig and it was almost silent, so it kinda sucks for me.

^try it whilst it is off - and if that doesn't work whilst it is on....

sadly the sound is still there. more like hard disk noise or just simply buzzing. and that's the second unit. I guess the r4 case makes it tolerable and the fact I place it on the floor. had it been another case it would've been really annoyance.
