Phildog549,

I was wondering what you are using to get those amazing temps. I have noticed since I started this thread that to acheive 3.6ghz the VCORE is around 1.38-1.42. However, even with my cooling system I push the recommended 60.1C when going full load with ORTHOS.

1.) What is your water cooling system?

Which Multiplier? and add volts to anything else?

I have heard people saying use 8 instead of 9?
What I have been doing is following this article and changein volts as directed.
http://gear.ign.com/articles/747/747671p1.html

Its runs good but fails Orthos after a few minutes.
3dmark and all games and apps work great.

To sum heres what I do.
RAM is unlinked, running @ 1066 @ 2.2 volts (stock no OC on the ram)
FSB 1600 to run @ 3.6 (best i Remeber) at a 9X multi.

CPU Thermal control - disabled
C1E Enhanced holt state - disabled
Intel Speedstep - disabled

CPU Spread Spectrum - disabled
HT Spread Spectrum - disabled
PCIe Spread Spectrum SPP - disabled
PCIe Spread Spectrum MCP - disabled
Sata Spread Spectrum - disabled

CPU Core: 1.45V
CPU FSB: 1.5V
nForce SPP: 1.50V

Temps are around 47 idle and 69-72 load
(i am banking its due to my ambient being around 27-31c in the rental im in for now)
I did attempt a lap of the cpu and heatsync (tuniq) grain of rice of Artic silver on the cpu center.

Any suggestions on settings etc??? help!

I'm kinda new to overclocking, but I was wondering does my Ram/GPU play any large part in how much I can overclock my system? I think that right now my CPU is the weakest part.

I just got an eVga 680i board cuz I wanted to run SLI and my old ASUS P5W DH Deluxe was only ATI Crossfire capable. So now I got 2 8800GTS overclocked to GTX speeds in this setup. Heres my specs.

Evga 680i SLI
e6600 overclocked to 3.4ghz on H2O cooling
2x 8800GTS SLI
2 gigs Crucial Ballistix DDR 2 8500 ram 5-5-5-15
2x Raptors raid0
OCZ GameXstrem 700 watt PSU

Max load temps are 45c and idle is 24c

I would think I could do better that 3.4ghz with my setup though. I did just get this board 2 days ago and I got lots of testing to do still....trying for 3.8ghz.
