[Hardware.info] Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan 4-way SLI review - Page 3

WTH!!! This quad is a joke, if Titans perform like this. I will be doing my own testing once my quads get here next week, but I find this review very disappointing,no matter how I read it. redface.gif

It is stupid, as I can testify based on my own system. I will never run high AA in surround for my system, but 2 690s always do better compared to a single 690, no matter what. Not sure what's up with this review, the only thing I can think of is that C3 is buggy ATM....

Just goes to show that 2 GPU's are the sweet spot, anything more is questionable at best. A lot of these tests have negative scaling past 2 cards...
We have found a prime example, where graphics hardware has reached limitations. The most powerful graphics cards in 4 way sli paired with the most powerful cpu overclocked to 5ghz, cannot max out crysis 3 in 3 1920 x1080p monitors. I'm very hard right now.... Good luck trying to run it on six monitors maxed out for atleast 2 years. Now i'm interested in seeing how the witcher 3 will turn out.

I play at 2560x1600 and the game plays fantastic, higher than 60 fps most of the time. Do I max it out? No, i'm not stupid, I lower 1-2 settings and use FXAA which gives me very fast framerates.

You just can't blindly max everything out; crysis 1 was no different at launch but it played absolutely fantastic by lowering a few settings. I played that game at 60+ fps at 1280x1024 back then, just like I play crysis 3 at 2560x1600 now..... this is a crysis game and like prior games - designed to scale for future machines.

Cam down folks, before making foolish proclamations about negative scaling for all games. I play C3 with decent fps (can't recall exactly what it was) on 5760 x 1080, as long as I keep AA low. This review is stupid, because it contradicts my own real use experience, and until I test something myself, I take it with a grain of salt..call it my pet peeve

people saying it's impossible to get worse FPS with 2 690s instead of 1 need to read about negative scaling.

This was an interesting read but it seems getting more than two titans (*cough*or any*cough*) is a waste at the moment. It's a new card so drivers still need to mature i guess. Lord knows how bad 7970 CFX support was at launch.
