Hi,
I'm using MSI GT60 w/ GTX 680M 4GB.

I've tried Chris TF2 Configs which supposedly should increase game performance and FPS but mine wont go over 30 frown.gif
NOTE: I'm running TF2 in Full Screen Mode 1920x1080
Please help

Edit 2: Changed GPU 'Power Management Mode to 'Prefer Maximum Performance' and got 80-100 FPS
Edit 3: Triple Buffering 'ON' , Texture Filtering - Quality 'HIGH PERFORMANCE', Multi Display/ Mix GPU acceleration 'SINGLE DISPLAY PERFORMANCE MODE'. Now getting 100-120 FPS
Edit 4: Tested FPS on other Games
Borderlands 2 : 100
CSGO : around 100 but it flactuates a lot even falls to 30 when m in crossfire and reaches 250 when I m dead.
Edit 5: able to reach 120-150 but lots of up and downs in FPS
Edit 6: Re-installed GPU Drivers but still same FPS

Can you fill out your other specs ? It could be helpful to diagnose what's wrong.

Yeah, TF2 is mad CPU bound. Overclock or get a better one. I've been constantly disappointed with the consistency of frames in TF2 my whole life tbh, I don't really get it. And as the poster above said: give us the rest of your info for a better diagnosis.

One of the things about chris fps configs is launch options. Make sure you're adding what he says to your launch options depending on your config. Some of them boot in -dxlevel 80 and -dxlevel 90 (after your first boot remove this line). -dxlevel 80 runs the game in direct x 8 and gives an overall huge boost. I'd say just... keep fiddling with the configs man. Chris's dx9 fps with tweaks is about what my graphics are at but I like to keep all my fps above 120 with tf2.

Ah yeah, there's your bottleneck. I don't think 2.4ghz is the ghz team fortress 2 likes to see. Honestly, an i7 should get you as many frames as you want. I'm not quite sure what's wrong but that clock speed looks like the largest problem. That or drivers or something? i7 and a 680 should be fine for tf2. I'd go through some guides to get back to fully stock team fortress 2 and then tweak your options and see how it goes.

I'm using GTX 680 and some of my friends are using GPU's below GTX680 and still getting better FPS

Definitely not a CPU bottleneck. The 3630QM can boost itself to over 3GHz, up to 3.4GHz on one core. Even at 2.4GHz it shouldn't be a problem.

That sort of performance makes me wonder if it's even using the 680M at all. Try forcing the 680M to be active at all times in Nvidia control panel.

Make sure you are not using any VSync both in game and in Nvidia Control Panel.

You can also try reinstalling the drivers, of course. And keep charger plugged in when you play.

Yeah, also, try alt+tabbing out of the game a couple of times. Sounds stupid, but there's some DX10 and 11 crap that forces 30FPS on some displays. Also, triple buffer if you can use that setting. That helps.

TF2 isn't cpu bound (and even if it is, that CPU beats mine, qnd I rock steady at 300 fps) - my friend using an SB i3 with Intel HD graphics nets 28 fps at 1366*768.
I'd look and see if it's definitely using the GTX680M and not the Intel HD graphics - as 30fps at 1080p is spot on for Intel HD Graphics
