My TF2 wont go over 30FPS, I have GTX 680 4GB - Page 7

I don't understand what you're saying but the human mind is only limited by its neurons and how they work. I sure can see 120fps/120hz and still notice that it can be improved a ton. It's annoying.

I would suggest setting the max displayed frame to like 75ish. Again, like mentioned above you'll see lower temperatures, less power consumption, less noise, and you will prolong the life of your mobile hardware.

No.

The eye doesn't see FPS. Not frames, but rather a continuous stream of light.

Hmmm when I studied Physics we were taught something different. I remember my tutor explaining it using the propellers on a helicopter... you see them spin and as it speeds up.... the blades seem to slow down, then stand still... and then move backwards... this is your eye not catching the complete movement of the propeller. eg. missing a lot of the action due to how many "frames" the eye can see. so it looks like the propeller is moving backwards but its moving forwards at a very high rate. the studies done suggested 40 to 60 pictures per second.
I did Physics more than 5 years ago so I could be rusty tongue.gif sorry for going off topic lol

You're right about this phenomenon. It's merely an illusion due to the brain that is trying to create patterns. The benefit of those patterns being, the limitation of occipital overload and other reasons like neural transmission. Which implements a kind of "lag" if you will' to prevent us from becoming dizzy by merely eye-movement. It's not so much that we don't see those events. It's the brain, trying to create order in a chaos of photons, that is life.

Doesn't that mean that we don't see past the 60 FPS anyway?? because our brain is trying to protect us? same outcome by your theory or mine...... where its the eyes or brain right?
anyways lol I cant tell the difference between 100 or 200 FPS.

No. There are many people who can distinguish 60fps from 120, like me. Google : linustechtips 120 vs 60 fps. He has a video where he does blind tests. He is able to tell which one is 120 fps or 60 fps, time and time again, within seconds. I can do that too, as many others.

Its hard to believe coz of what they teach us at school but I will take your word for it smile.gif. Just because I cant distinguish between say 60 and 100, that doesn't mean its not possible. Its probably just me

Yeah some people have different times with 120Hz and 60Hz.. Like I have short sightedness (and wear glasses) so the response for me is smaller then say the response from my mate who owns the 120Hz screen.. Quote him "I can't even use this because it's not 120"
