Agree that Acronis True Image is quite good, but is there any difference b/t the retail and Acronis True Image WD Edition other than support? Nothing against buying the software, but might as well use the free version (his sig shows "WD caviar black" HDD) if that's all he needs. Just wondering whether the retail version has better SSD support or HDD alignment options. Wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Free version is the same. Works great. You can even manually adjust partition offset on restore if there is an unalignment issue.

I used Paragon and had a successful clone, the problem with a clean install is i would have to go through the registry and pull out the embedded W8 key, i have a core version of windows on on a series 7 chronos.

I have successfully cloned however
