GTX 650 new drivers artifacting on TF2

Thread Starter
Just installed the GTX 650 and the new Nvidia 314.07 drivers and now Team Fortress 2 has lighting popping like someone is switching on and off a light switch, could it be the drivers??

Yeah, it's the driver.  Try older drivers until it works.

If that driver doesn't work, then keep trying older and older drivers until you find a driver that works.

I hope they fix it soon, do they have the legacy drivers available at the thier website?

Yeah, they still offer them just as they always have.  They only go back as far as 306.97.

hey jcrew

there is a 150+ page thread about this problem. i think it was a Valve patch that broke TF2 for us.
it was bad enough when my FPS went into the toilet from a TF2 update. it's seems my use of a DX9 cfg for more FPS won't help this problem.

in the steam thread people are having luck with either running windows default drivers (win7), or using DX8 (maxframes)

yeah ill have to check that thread, i rolled back the drivers and all is well, TF2 has many updates all the time, bugs are to be expected.

nvMcJohn (the NVIDIA guy) is using debug drivers with Valve to resolve these problems.
