Highest binned 7950?

Thread Starter
My 7950 just died after less than a month of use, it kept becoming unstable at lower and lower clock speeds, so I returned it for a refund... Anyways it was a chip with a fairly low asic. I was just wondering if there are any 7950s that are notably highly binned 7950s, I know it probably doesn't make much difference but I'd prefer to buy one anyway. Also if anyone has any idea what it was that happened to my last card I'd be interested.

ASIC rating does not have effect on the stability and life of a graphics card. which HD 7950 card did you have ? you got a faulty card. bad luck. get another HD 7950 card . sapphire HD 7950 boost is a good option.

I had the Gigabyte Windforce 3, now I'm leaning towards either a Sapphire vapor-x, His IceQ 2(if I can find one), or the Asus DCUII

which country are you from. the sapphire card with dual x cooler is very good. HIS HD 7950 iceq x2 boost is a very good option but its 311 cm long. your case cannot fit it . max graphics card length is 305 mm.

United States. I guess it's going to be either the Vapor-x or the DCUII then...

Yes I have the Sapphire Dual-x 7950 crossfired with a Twin Frozr III 7950 and I love both of them. You will be happy with that. And expect a low ASIC score because I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) boost cards are always going to have a lower ASIC because of the higher boost voltage. My MSI is 62.2% and my Sapphire is 53.6%, but they are overclocked to 1150/1575 at the stock boost voltage. That doesn't sound like a low quality chip to you, does it? The Dual-x is pretty damn long. About an inch longer than my MSI TFIII so just make some measurements and make sure it will fit. I'm sure if it isn't going to fit raghu would've told you it wouldnt. I would just measure everything out before you buy. I had to remove my HDD cage to fit the Dual-x in my HAF 912, but I measured before-hand to make sure it sould. I have 3 ssd's so I have them hiding down near the bottom of my case.

I think I'm just going to go with the vapor-x since it appears to come on a 7970 PCB and has an extra DVI port

the vapor-x uses a custom PCB with 8 + 6 pin power connectors. if you like it go for it. but if 2 dvi ports is all what you need go for the newer sapphire hd 7950 boost version. custom pcb. not compatible with full cover waterblocks. 27 cm long

here is a user who has positive feedback about the card
