Solid Upgrade from GTX480?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I've been looking at ditching my GTX480. What would you recommend as a solid upgrade? Basically I'm sick of the power requirements, heat, and noise from the 480 so I'd like something much more efficient yet capable. I've got a Corsair 750w PSU and would like to keep costs around $300 if at all possible. I game at 1080p. Was thinking possibly a GTX660??

I'd go 7950. Perfect for your budget.

For $300 I'd highly recommend you go with an AMD Radeon 7950. If you want to stick with Nvidia then you can get the MSI 660 Ti power edition for $300 which is the best 660 Ti.

7950 all the way! Best price/performance ratio atm! I recommend Gigabyte, Asus, MSi or sapphire one

I'm not opposed to AMD/ATI...I've just had good luck with nVidia cards in the past. Typically play BF3, Diablo 3, etc. I'll look at the 7950, thanks!

I went from a GTX480 to a HD7970 Lightning. Could not be happier. 7950 isn't that far behind the 7970 so!

Don't be afraid of AMD, their drivers are just as good as nvidia these days, esp. the 7xxx series. The price to performance ratio is great too! thumb.gif

I think I'm gonna go with this guy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131478

10% code + $20 rebate + Crysis 3 + Bioshock for $250 seems like a good deal.
