Don't think that would work with their multiplayer thing.

If "dad" decides to play online with a person using supposed largercitysetup.ini files, then the "problem" would still introduce itself and I'm sure they want their game to "just work" for as many people as possible out of the box.

At least we know that the smaller cities wont be the only option forever.

Staph it, the consumer doesn't know what it wants, therefore EA has to clearly enforce it.

I don't see why the developers couldn't make it like every other Sim City game and have selectable city sizes. If the biggest city doesn't run well on an older computer, tough luck, time to upgrade or choose a smaller city size. This always worked in the past, so why does it not work now?

I was looking forward to Sim City.

Oh well.

Rome II Total War still looks promising.

So long as I can get regions with 5+ cities, I'm not really concerned with the individual cities. Except for a bug with AA (suddenly killed FPS after ~25m, turning it off fixed it immediately), the beta last week played great, knowing it'll expand in the future is just a cherry on top.

As long as they charge you more for it in the future, it's ok? No wonder this industry is headed where it's headed.

Hmm, mind either quoting where I said that or being civil and not putting words in my mouth?

I've played the game enough to know that it's worth the money I paid for my preorder, if this ends up being DLC and I've enjoyed the game enough to where I'm still playing regularly when it comes around, I'll decide then if I gain enough from bigger cities to pay what they want for it.

That isn't what he or the dev said.

He said its okay for him, because he actually enjoyed playing the game, as did a large amount of people who played the betas. Not because they're apparently going to charge more for it.
