This game started on my "Must buy on release day" list, it rapidly dropped to my "Wait for a sale/gift/whatever" list and it is now on my "Forget it" list.

Chances are you wouldn't have liked it that much even if it had larger cities then.

I'm in the same boat. My dad's running an i7 860, a Radeon HD 4870, and a Samsung 840 Pro 128GB boot drive. I think the larger city size would run.

Watching all of these Sim City let downs is better than watching a train wreck. Thanks EA for the free entertainment of watching you drive all of your franchises into the ground as hard as you possibly can.

People will never learn will they?

It would have been a day one buy for me with larger cities. As they are now, they're way too restrictive.

We'll see how the game looks in a year or so with all the DLC and I might look at picking up the GOTY edition or whatever they'll end up calling it.

That's because it will happen. Sure there is that news article about all future EA games having micro-transactions. Sim City with have micro-transactions for new buildings, road types etc. I'll be sticking to Sim City 4. I prefer the graphical look of 4 to be honest. Much like with Age of Empires 3, I find the newer entirely 3d close up style of gameplay leaves me feeling claustrophobic.
