Ok I just got email from XSPC and I was told that the thickness of my Fujipoly Xtreme thermal pads are not the correct thickness.
The block came with a manual with photos of the older version of the block so instructions were a little confusing.
Here is the instructions for installation of the XSPC RAZER HD7970 block for both old and new versions.
Interesting thing about the thermal tape is that there is 1 grey piece of thermal tape .5mm thick that must be put on that acts as a non conductive protector directly on top of the long line of chokes.
So the correct thermal pads sizes are 1mm for the memory and vrm and .5mm thickness for the grey non conductive protector on top of the chokes near the main VRM.
I'm going to have to scrap the fujipoly xtreme thermal pad for the time being to see if I can get the block to work on the card. I will still use Cool Laboratory Liquid Pro on the gpu.
Once I get the card booted I will run the same test.
Later on I will get the right thickness fujipoly thermal pad on it and do a final test for comparison to the heat killer block.
