I did use the UE on the VRM of my Vapor HD7950 VRM. But I didn't use the Extreme before so I don't know how well it improved temps.

It's so expensive and it is more fragile to work with. I would think it is better but don't know for certain so I can't really recommend it but I do think that it is over priced. Makes now sense to me for this stuff to be 3x the price. Makes me think that it is the type of product that is marketed to the kind of guy that has more money than brains. I don't have alot of money either but I wanted to try it out. My brain is all about this stuff. This is my #1 hobby.

When I get around to getting some comparisons I will do a little review.

Thanks a bunch for the quick reply. I'm just gonna get some of the Extreme pads then, I'm all for the best performance but when it comes down to 3X the price for a few C it probably isn't worth it. thumb.gif

Yeah I bought a pump from XSPC (the notorious X20) and it didn't work so I contacted them over 4 months ago, and still no reply.

Luckily the pump somehow fixed itself, though.

Hey SonDa5,

I have two GIGABYTE GV-R797OC-3GD Rev 2.1 that I got in a trade the other night. I though they were the older Rev 1s that had the ref design boards. If I cannot get rid of them for ref designed I will be stuck with them and I am not liking their current temps of 90C/204F. I had planed on liquid cooling them anyways but with full water blocks, however what you have done with your 7970 in the picture here has given me an idea for a cooling system. But I need to know what are you using for the two water blocks?

Thanks buddy in advance.

It's a Vapor X HD7950 not a HD7970.

I am using a VRM water block wtih a modified NEW Edition XSPC RAZOR HD7970 block.

The block sucks ass by itself but doing what have done works well for my card. Not sure how it would work out for your card. You will have to do alot of research to find a block to work with if you plan on modifying.
