Need help for OC my PC

Thread Starter
here is my PC spec :
-intel core i7 2600k sandy bridge at 0.928-0.936 Core Voltage, 3.4Gz , Core speed : 1608.42 Mhz , Bus speed 100.52 Mhz.
-Mobo : Asus P8Z77-V , chipset Intel.
-RAM : 16GB 804.2 MHz ( dual RAM)
-VGA : NVIDIA Geforce gtx 580

OKay, im completely a newbie in this area.i have no idea how to OC, all i know is pressing F2 at the start-up screen and access to the bios.

please help me to OC the processor , VGA and if there is something else too...
i dont need too high OC that will cause damage to my PC, i just need the performance is increased bout 30-40 % ( means estimate 4.2Gz ).thats fine.
i focus on the processor cos im the animation designer so you know, the stronger core , the faster render.

and please dont use slangs or short-term cos i dont know what they are.
i appreciate your help and i really need it.thanks a lot.redface.gif

Damage doesnt really occur at high speeds, it occurs at high voltages and temps and only after long periods of time (years). You can google the max temp and voltage of every component you got. Plenty of guides, just google it. There's probably at least 5 guides on the exact motherboard you have alone.

We don't mind helping but come on.

now i understand a little bit of OC

but i have a lot of problems :

1st time i tested with 4.5Gz with offset voltage , it gave me very high temperature.(bout 90) at 1.36 V or over.

then i gave up and kicked it down to 4gz, this time i set the manual voltage as the image (1.18V)
but what the hell , the temp is still there at 80 C

but when i switch the core speed back to 1600 Mhz (means saving mode) and like i said at the 1st time the voltage is about 0.9V, it gave me the temp about 45-50 at full load.

help me to solve the temp problem.i dont believe my gig cant reach 4.5 ghz.

by the way : bluescreen happens to me a lot.
4.5 Ghz at 1.35 V still causes bluescreen.

my heatsink and thermal paste have been applied correctly.
here is my instanceof what ive done.(currently stuck at high temp)

im using Antec KUHLER H2O 620 CPU Cooler , but dont know its fan's voltage

it has the fan , actually i intergrate 7 fans cos my case is a full tower.

my gig is really a big problem with the heat.i dont know how to solve that.
no mater how you set the CPU, it still reach the 80-90 C. ****.

do you think that problem is caused by the cooler ? i doubt its surface is not in touch with the CPU.when i test with any tester, the temp is up almost IMMEDIATELY to 80-90 C.
do you suggest me any good h20 cooler ? if you need i will upload the image of my cooler and fan.

by a way, do you suggest me to use CPU cooler (heatsink) or water cooler system which is beautifully more expensive but sucks.
