Virtual Box and virus

Thread Starter

I want to go to a site that probally has viruses but, I want to do something there (long story and no it is not what you think it is). If I go there in a Debian virtual box in Windows will Windows be related to the virus? I will delete the virual box after. Thanks for your your help in advance.

It is to do a "survey" to get in game stuff.

If you have to fill in a survey to get a link to a download, or to get a 'password' to unlock a file, then I will tell you to stop now. Those surveys are scams, there is nothing to unlock.

As for an actual answer, a virtual box is safe from your common virus.

I do the same thing, I use an Ubuntu VM whenever I visit "questionable" websites. It works. Windows viruses cannot run on, or infect Linux. However, Linux can save and store the virus, so if you download something with a virus, and ever run it on your windows machine, then you'll have a problem.

Yes, You have to check anything you have downloaded in Linux before allowing it on a windows machine.

I have a friend that always finds virus's on the net and loves to use my PC. They get to use linux in a VM.. for my sanity lol.
