FPS aint everything. Frametime / Latency is what really matters..

I've had 7970 and 680. Sitting with a 7950 right now, but probably going back to Nvidia. 660OC/660Ti would be enough for me untill next generation, as i dont play much during summer anyway.

IN MY OPINION, Nvidia feels more smooth and dont have the occational stuttering like AMD does. Drivers seem better, especially when playing older / not so popular games and the noise level is quite a bit lower during 3D, especially after OC.

Call me fanboy, dont really care smile.gif This is my personal experience with current cards.

I would not trade.

Also, why would he want to trade, if he is happy with his card? teaching.gif

stick with what you bought amd or nvidia and you don't have to create comotion here, find out for yourself since you have access to 7970 right? None of these I heard this, I heard that, go on ahead test it live!

There would be none if people took the time to carefully read (or if the thread starter whistle.gif make things very clear redface.gif ...LOL!) & realize sometimes, threads like this is not about having a pissin' match all the time about who's the fastest wink.gif

The 7970 is definitely faster, it's more a match for a GTX680. Louder, a bit, but with my headphones on in game, Who Cares? I'd swap in a minute, and if you can't stand the noise or don't like it hey just swap back, ah, you did say he was your FRIEND Right?
I would give the 7970 a shot. I replaced the stock cooler with the artic accelero extreme, 100% fan speed is virtually silent. The amd clocks really well and AMD have had some real success with driver improvements so far.

Why do people on these forums make threads to disagree to everything you have to say?
Also, the 7970 is the better card, i don't understand what the problem is, it's better then a 680 in cases.
If it's better then a 680 it's obviously better then a 670.
Another thing - The 7970 are beasts to overclock.
Done.
Why would you switch? They basically preform the same excluding a few apps here and there. And once overclock the gap between say a 1200MHz 7970 and a 1250 MHz 670 is not that huge at all, in fact it will be most likely unnoticeable.

I have no experience with the 7970 or the gtx 670, just going to say that now.

How about you do this, over the weekend just swap cards and on Monday if your both happy you keep the cards thats the end of it. If your not happy just say dude dont like the card and get your card back. This way you both get to test the cards for yourself and see if it is what you want and, a whole weekend is lots of time to test.
