I need an additional 8pin connector! - Page 2

I'm late to the party but I would also suggest buying another PSU.

For your information. So PCIe power cable and CPU power cable are not the same. wink.gif

I'll be heading to Micro Center sometime this week to do so.

Any suggestions for my specific build?
I'm only running a single GTX 580 3GB with an ASRock Z77 Extreme4, 16GB DDR3-1600 memory, 1 SSD (Samsung 840 120GB), 1 HDD (2tb WD Green), a water cooling system, about 7 fans, and an i5-3570k OC @ 4.5ghz

Do you plan of adding a second GPU card in the future? If not, a simple 650w PSU should do more than enough.

FAQ: Recommended Power Supply

Thanks for your input!

I do understand that the PCIe and the ATX/CPU power are different, thanks for the diagram.

I went out and purchased a new PSU per all of your suggestions. The power supply I purchased (which is on that FAQ: Recommended Power Supply List) is the Silencer MK II 750W (NewEgg)

If anyone can give me a good reason to return this for another one, please do. If you make a suggestion on another PSU though, please keep it at or near the same price for a fairly significant improvement. I do not mind taking this one back as I have to return to Micro Center to return some other things anyways.

This one is even better, this way, you'll be able to go easily crossfire one day or SLI. But the PCP&C Silencer MKII 750W is still a good unit.

That looks great, but I don't think my Micro Center carries the SILVERSTONE brand power supplies mad.gif
