How to check integrity of new ram? - Page 2

Download Memtest86 and burn it to a CD, boot into the menu and select single core mode and let it run until "Pass: 1". When you have that the Errors should be 0, if so then you have stable and error free ram. There's no need to run it more then one pass, as memory is very fickle and will either error the first pass or not at all.

Sometimes Memtest does not find all the errors. Try Prime 95 and use most of your ram.

prime95 also tests the IMC.

If you're just checking ram, memtest is usually better. 1 pass is not enough but how many passes you do depends how anal you are.

Last RAM nightmare i had, I ended up memtesting each stick individually for 2 days before I felt safe. Had 1 stick that would fail at pass 8-9.

Wouldn't worry too much if you didn't hit the contacts. I would just slap the RAM in and memtest overnight than do your usual stress testing.
