7970's for performance/$. Also that 2600k won't bottleneck much even at stock clocks.

/not sure if serious

I had my cpu oc but due to bsod issues it made me go back to stock, I had no bottleneck then nor do I have one now. I bought my m4e to oc the cpu but had problems all round no matter what sandy bridge guide I choose maybe due to bad chip..?

I want something that will future proof me with graphics as I game on triple monitors as I dont really upgrade all that often. 6870 cf was fine for me at 1920x1080p gaming until I decided to upgrade my resolution.

itz, i only play at 1080. in bf3 mp with my gpu (7950 at stock) and i7 SB oc'ed to 4.5GHz i can maintain 60 minimum using ultra and 4msaa. but with the cpu stock my minimums go down to the low 50s. playable but that is on single 1080. '
you might want to re-prioritize your components.

edit: with regard to oc the chip . . . did you try raising the vcore to 1.3v (example) and just up the multiplier to 45?

I had the blk 100mhz, 45x turbo, ram 1600mhz @ 9-9-9-24 1.5v, vcore manual 1.350, extreme pwr/phase, 350% frequency, llc load ultra. Primed for over 2days straight blend, used to bsod very few days tho... Gave up and set it back, been running 100% since.

turn that turbo off and just set your multiplier to 45. not familiar with that mobo. my biostar turns off all power saving features when i set it to manual oc. the guides come in when using stuff like offset and llc or when it comes time to fine tune your oc.

i like the titan idea, though. dam student loans are on the way!

I think the turbo has to be enabled since if settting the mulitplier changes the blk and can damage the pci-e bus lanes since they are connected, not too sure tbh. Maybe I might have another go at overclocking my computer again.

Mabye you did just get a bad CPU, or possibly it's your RAM -- I'm hitting 4.8-5.0 without a problem on mine with a 2700K, though it did take some fiddling to get there. But I couldn't get the 2500K before it past 4.6. Have you tried the 2302 BIOS? It led to quite a bit of stability improvement here.

You could probably also start a thread over in Intel CPUs -- you might be able to get the issue(s) narrowed down if you get a few sets of eyes looking at it.

Good luck...
