All this talk about Crysis made me decide to finally finish it..

It still brings my pc to it's knee's. FPS of 20-60 at the highest settings, luckily the 20 isn't real often but it's definitely noticeable. The game looks amazing for a fresh install vanilla copy. It really goes to show how much consoles have hindered gaming graphics in the past few years.

Is the game actually any good?
I've only ever played it to test out overclocks and the likes (graphics rolleyes.gif)

I like it. The thing I like most is the customization of guns, all FPS's should do this.

I got really irritated when I kept being sniped through foliage from NPCs I literally couldn't see myself. It's like I'd walk around the corner and catch flak immediately. I really enjoyed 2, though. I will definitely give the first another shot one day... I'm a much more patient person now than I was at 19.

Yeah, bought Crysis series (1/2/3..) mostly as a benchmarking tool. But, after playing Crysis 3 a bit also made me want to go back and play thru from the beginning of the series.

Am i the only one who thinks original Crysis was the best, and that the series went down the hill afterwards?

You're not the only one, certainly. But I don't agree.

I tried to replay Crysis 1 recently and thought it was pretty bland. There are a few memorable moments in the game, especially the 0-gravity alien ship mission. But mostly I didn't like it. I did prefer the suit modes in Crysis 1...

Warhead was a lot better. I liked the gameplay and even the graphics a lot more. And Psycho.

I think Crysis 3 is my favorite... but there are still a lot of things I don't like about it. A lot of the settings are drab and dreary. I still don't like the simplified suit modes. The dialog is pretty silly too. But the gameplay and graphics, I feel, are top-notch in the Crysis series.

All a matter of opinion, of course...

Oh, and I think Crysis 1 had the best mutliplayer.

^ I enjoyed 3 the most, but I agree about some of the dialogue. Nothing really original as far as storytelling and dialogue go, and the I really didn't like the voice actor for Prophet. But as far as graphics go...wow!

I thought a lot of the environments were awesome!

Not alone at all.

Crysis Warhead was Crytek's last true all-round great game. While the graphics improved with Crysis 3, I feel that the core game design has been downhill since Warhead... especially the multiplayer, which has been content to chase after the COD design philosophy after Crysis Wars.

A large majority of the real loyal following Crytek had with their franchise left with Crysis 2.

I think Crysis 1 has Crysis 2 beat...I haven't played the third at all yet. It's only been out a couple of weeks I think. However, I've heard it is pretty good. I will be picking it up, but I am just so sick of shooters and over the shoulder games that I probably won't get it until it is a $30 game.

I have to say I think Crysis 1 had a pretty good story...I mean it combined politics and aliens, but at the end you still felt like it was a good story.
