Problems of a Low ASIC quality card? [Sapphire 7970 - 60.4%] - Page 11

Cant overclock any higher. Card also got damaged in shipping to me and one of the heat pipes is completely crushed in.

Seems stable tho, Gave it a hour on furmark and it got up to 72C and has passed few runs of 3D mark and BF4.

Cant really complain tho for $299. Will swap my water coolers over from my 6850 CF and push the voltage as hard as it will go.

RMA it. The 6850 cooler definitely won't handle it.

Water coolers should handle it, They handled my 6850 on 1.34V and kept it under 40C in furmark.
Just waiting on a shim before I can stick it on.

Push card a litle harder last night since I dont give a F about it. Thats $299NZD and got it from over seas so RMA will be a PITA. Every where here still sells them for over $500.
It takes 1.2V to get 1110mhz core.
1.22V to get 1150mhz.
1.235V to get 1200mhz where is starts to get to hot and touches on 89C in furmark but can play BF4 beta and stays under 70C

Default voltage in Trixx says 1.19V but watching gpuZ its only using 1.187V.

You got to find some way to cool the VRMs though. AFAIK the PCS+ cards don't have any VRM cooling IIRC

Looks like some VRM sinks in there.
No ram syncs tho.
