You get alpha and beta access plus the game when its released. The game will cost $50 when its released so this is a deal

No, they want you to pay that amount for the full game. Buying the game now gets you alpha/beta access and the game is cheaper than if you bought it later - similar to the way Minecraft launched.

I really hoped for arma III to be better than this, was so tagged for Dayz in its stand alone version with updated engine but i guess ill buy it anyways, cuz gameplay is everything.

I've never seen a reason to play any ARMA game, because there is just no objectives & lack of balance gameplay. I don't care how awsome it looks, if the physics aren't right, etc.. so the great graphics have no pull on me.

That said^..  I have a boner over this game & will buy it in support of Bohemia, like I have every ARMA game..

But ARMA is more like a Military trainer, than game. I love the openess.. but focused objective (multiple ones @ once) just don't have the feel of a team sport. So when my Titan arives I'll see if they fixed the gameplay.

On-the-other-hand, we won't have a long wait to see what DICE is comming up with in BF4. Which is rumored to be more players (50 vs 50?), bigger maps...  realistic universe, w/ compressed combat by focused objectives. I like open maps that allow for more dynamic play (hate metro), but having tons of objectives makes BF more of a meta game, more than what most people understand is going on in Battlefield games. Some only know BC2 ~ BF3 and not understand Commanders, etc..  so they don't understand what is comming with BF4. (+ BattleRecorder ftw...)

Do you see the bigger picture of purchasing the Alpha? Its for the dedicated community to want to assist in the development of this game. They want to rely on people who actually enjoy the game, vs. a team that is doing it just because they have to. I find it a great way to give back and I get to reap the benefits of doing so.

That's an interesting way to look at it. Admittedly, I was skeptical at first about this whole pay less than retail for alpha beta and retail stuff.

Tasty fresh screenshots for ya!

Can't remember the settings but everything on Very High or Ultra. AA set to 2x or 4x and FXAA set to High I think. Lack of AA is noticeable in the screenshot with the helicopter overhead.

Having been a big ARMA 2 player I can say that the gameplay feels much better. Player movement is much improved, Radio chatter is a huge upgrade which makes a bigger difference than you might think. AI kinda sucks at times but can be great at certain points (they will flank you and run away, so watch out!).

In conclusion I absolutely love it, but there are definitely improvements that need to be made, namely AI.
