It went up because last month you could get an exclusive TF2 promo item by launching TF2 on Linux.

Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit 0.71% +0.28%

Yep, because Humble Bundles haven't proven Linux users won't buy games and pay more than Windows users for that matter or anything. rolleyes.gif

There's not significant enough numbers on its own, but when you take into account OS X and Linux both being *nix based and easy to port programs across you are talking about ~5% of the market, however I can understand why a lot of developers are waiting for now.

That's just Windows 8 32-bit. Windows 8 64-bit has about 9%. I got excited when I saw that, too, but then noticed the 64-bit version sitting at #3.

His point isn't really to just get COD4 on there. Get any mainstream game used by hundreds of thousands of gamers and it will help the push.

and they are coming..
serious sam bfe is proof that intensive games can come to linux with lil performance hit..

given the move and valves talks with amd / nvidia i can see some better drivers and caps coming to linux over the next 3 months that will give a solid platform to start bench marking the differences on between windows
