2 long beeps 1 short beep - Cant find what it is.

Hi guys smile.gif

New member here, I'm not sure where I should've put this. i'm hoping somebody is able to help.

I just upgraded the CPU in my rig to an X6 1055t. I put it in, and I get 2 long beeps and 1 short beep. Which had me a little concerned.

So far I've tried changing the video cards PCIe slot using 2 different sticks of ram in 2 different slots and reseating the CPU/cooler. I also get no picture on the monitor, but it detects the Video card cable. Just tried an older, known to be working FX4000 video card. Still got the beeps. Just switched out the PSU and it works fine. Looks like it's the CPU! frown.gif

The build is:

990FXA-UD7
X6 1055t
2x2gb DDR3 1333mhz (Corsair budget ram)
generic 450watt PSU
passive 5450

I'm really at a loss as to what I should do next.

I'd appreciate any help.

Cheers smile.gif

On the internal display, I get an codes F2, 00 and C1.

From what I've read, F2 means the CPU isn't compatible....But the motherboard I'm using before has had all sorts of CPUs in it, from a 955BE to an FX6100... (Could the F2 display have something to do with the bios? I just looked up the CPU support list and it says that this particular CPU has been supported since bios version F2. From what I remember, it's currently on F4)

Hello,

Have you tried ressetting the Bios by taking out the battery on the motherboard?

Maybe its having this error, because it try's to boot up the new CPU, with old settings

next time you get beeps, look for your motherboard manual, it should be inside the box your board came in.
It will have a list of beeps and causes
