hmm quite advanced, when i first saw your post i was curious what you were saying exactly, i guess i misinterpreted the 260w for 1c of water at 1gpm sentence, sounded a lot like it takes 260watts to heat 1 gallon of water to a degree higher

Just thermodynamics (something I've long forgotten the specific equations of). @GingerJohn: I smell....mechanical engineer?

Some will already have said it but here it comes again:

Firstly, flow doesn't matter all that much. If you have the standard 1 gal. per minute the temps across the loop won't vary more than 1 Celcius from CPU out to rad out
As long as you have some flow, your water will go throught your rads faster if you have more flow. But it will also go throught your rads more often. Having more than 1 GPM will net you very little benefits. In fact I have asked a few guys here to turn their pumps all the way down, than all the way up. And absolutely NONE of them could see temp changes from their cores, none.

This brings me to the second statement: the order of stuff in your loop absolutely does not matter, so long as your pump is right after your reservoir and below it. Everything else can be anywhere you want, and see fit.

Thirdly, two loops will always be less efficient than a single loop. But I won't explain.that one here, just take my word on it. biggrin.gif

Also, don't worry about blowing up your res. You could have 10 pumps in there and still no blowing up of anything will occur.

Cheers cheers.gif
