That's not true at all.

You need to be careful and have common sense, which it doesn't take much common sense to hold a blade parallel to a pcb and know if you TOUCH the pcb with the blade it's probably screwed.

The furthest i have gone with electronics is building a system, 2 years ago i did not know a thing about anything to do with PC hardware - im nervous although i know i shouldnt be while doing something as simple as reseating a GPU, so i have no doubts in my abilities to accidentally cut the CPU in half biggrin.gif

So I just got my Nocua NH-D14 in the mail. Gonna check it out and clean up my cable management in my case while I wait for my motherboard. Here are some pics if anyone is interested. It was packaged very well and looks to be HIGH quality. Can't wait to install it!

Totally false. That's what the delidded club is for It's to guide you through the right phases and blades to use along with ask us the delidded crew on any concerns you have.

Backstory to how I delidded. I was the second to delid on here right after Swag did his and I only had his input which was pretty darn limited. I did it slowly and very cautiously and then thought. I about had a heart attack when i did mine, a guide is in order! So me and Swag each made one. I linked Swags into mine as well were he has the specificdie sizes and CPU stuff, while I have the how to and what to use. Currently at almost 80 members, be careful as to what you say when a newbie will kill his chip over half of my crew delidded with under 400 posts. myself included.

I picked up an NH-D14 yesterday for $50 via CL... I guess I expected too much from it, pretty much the same temps that I had on my Megahelam in push/pull. Well maybe a degree or two better.. Also, I didn't know that the stock fans aren't PWM :/
I think my next upgrade is to the H220. Should work well with my delidded 3770k.

Anyway, enjoy your new HSF thumb.gif

Welp I have to ask, OP, are you interested in selling the Hyper 212 for cheap?

(I'm really into extreme overclocking and benchmarking and currently theres a lot of competitions going on and I'd like to get another heatsink for some other older benching rigs I have.)

Absolutely! But be warned, if we're benching 1155 then you'll win as my 3570K in my benching rig is a HORRIBLE chip! (1.61vcore just for 5.1ghz not even stable, delidded with a h100 in a slushbox, yeah, its that bad of a chip).

Yea I'll sell it for like $15 + shipping. Its only a month old. I'll clean it up and blow some compressed air through the fins to make it nice and clean for you(: How do you get one of the trader ratings things? I'd love to sell some stuff, but I hate doing it through cragislist.
