Haha thats ok I'll take a trip down to microcenter tomorrow or saturday and pick up a 3770k for $230 thumb.gif

Glad I can upgrade and have another go at the silicon lottery.

Do they? Why do you say that? I got my 3570k there. and it sucked..., but why would EVERY one be crappy?

they probably got a bad batch of chips.

Are you sure the chip doesn't work? I'm shocked that so little damage to the PCB killed it. It didn't even look like it hit copper.

That's where I go to get my chips. Most of the batches they have suck. My 1st i7 needed 1.28 for 4.5. 2nd needed 1.3 and I don't remember what my current chip needs but it's the best one I've gotten yet :\ but 1.38v for 4.8 isn't all that good either.
