I don't really mean to revive this thread, but I am currently shopping for a bungee, and I am going to explain why because there seems to be confusions to the purpose of a mouse bungee.
Yes they help with cable management, and here at OCN we are all obsessed with cable management (especially inside the box
Consistency. Many many many pro/competitive gamers use mouse bungees simply because it regulates your muscle memory. If your cable is lose on your desk, it picks up all kinds of resistance from surfaces / items. This means everytime you swipe across your xxl mousepad @ low sens you pick up all this other junk / interference (especially for crowded desks)
The bungee helps with this by making sure the resistance of the cable is always coming from the same place, and is always regulated by the bungee cords.
Its a simple concept, but it is so much more than the obvious "cable management" factor.
