Athlon XP overclock FSB problem - Page 2

Thread Starter
Hm after reading
http://www.motherboardpoint.com/t301...rclocking.html
and now that I know some more, it seems like it tries to up the speed of the
AGP and PCI ports as well... apparently there's no way of stopping that on the
MB I have though, so I'm out of luck ;P
(I guess unless there's a modded BIOS that could handle that, I'm guessing it's hardware based though, and couldn't find any modded BIOS anyway ;P)

Oh well, at least I can turn a 1800+ into a 1900+ by the mulitplier

Thanks for all the help!

Hey mate, I have an idea. Although there is no way you're going to get an PCI/AGP lock since it physically doesn't exist you can still OC your CPU.

Try the guide on this site to unlock the multiplier on your CPU. You can also increase the voltage to your CPU to stabilize it. What kind of core is it? You can find it out by CPUz. This is quite important since the guide above is a very powerful tool and you can basically set whatever frequency you desire. You should say if it is a palomino/thoroughbred A or B/barton core and what is its stock frequency.
