micro atx mobo recommendations

My mobo died on me and I need a replacement. I don't have the funds to build from scratch so I'll be keeping everything except my ddr2 ram and CPU which means I'll be needing a micro atx mobo that will fit my current case. Any recommendations?

I've narrowed it down to the ASRock 890GM Pro 3 R2.0, Biostar A880GZ, and the Asus M5A88-M and M5A88-EVO. Is one of these boards a better choice than the others?

The evo is the best choice in terms of VRMs. It's phased 6+2+1 and heatsinked. You will benefit from this if you want to overclock and if you'll be using an x6 Phenom.

I was actually planning on running the fx-8350. I made that list of motherboards by going to all the manufacture's websites and selecting ones that supported the 8350 and then narrowing down from there based on fsb. This may not have been the best method, lol. After I made my post I went shopping and couldn't find a couple of them for sale anywhere. I am welcome to any recommendations that are not on the list I posted.

In that case only either get the evo or I can recommend the Gigabyte ga-78lmt-usb3. You'll nuke the the other ones, especially the Biostar.

Agreed!

The m5a88 EVO or the GA 78lmt USB 3 are the only decent AM3 Matx motherboard choices

The gigabyte was on my original list but I removed it because of the lower fsb compared to the others. I'm guessing maybe the fsb isn't as important as I thought...

So is there a big difference between the M5A88-M and the M5A88-M EVO? The EVO cost about 2x as much. I don't have a problem paying for it but want to make sure it is worth it first, And just to clarify, since I want to run the 8350 and have sata 3 those are my only two options as far as a quality board goes?

M5A88-M EVO has 6+1 Heatsink Phase power and you will need it with that 8530 in it.

Thanks for the super quick reply! I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the EVO, seems like it is the only mobo that met my needs. Wish ASUS would start making AMD socket ROG matx mobos...
