Going to try and make one of the dust filter mounts this week to see if I can make them with the tools I have, bending is going to be the hard part but if all goes good I will make a second and then test on my top radiator. I will let you know how it goes.

Finished making the first of four of my dust filter mounts, had to re-think how to bend the metal and cut with straight lines as all I have is my Ozito Rotary Tool. Any way after the second prototype I have my finished product, just need to make the tray for it.

Other photos and stuff located on the Dust Filters post.

Also finished a dust filter tray, all fits as planed thumb.gif

Subbed. Love this build and I think the switch to black tubes was the right call. Looks really clean.

Would love a step-by-step on the filters! Getting ideas, doodles and measurements put together for my case and would love to make some of these for mine. Thinking a longer one that spams two 140mm fans is a good idea for my bottom intake

Will post a step by step guide on how I made the filters mounts, will take more photos of the process when I make the next one and all the tools I used.. just need a couple days to do this thumb.gif

I was originally going to have one filter that went over my 400 radiator, this would have been okay for the front as you could pull the filter out from the very top but I could not do this for the top as I would have had to pull it out from the back which would have ment moving my case over 400mm each time, I decided that would be a real pain in the back side. You cant have the filters slide out from the side in one full peice as the lack of support would mean your fans would vibrate or make noise and be really flimbsy. This is how I came to having one for each fan.

I was just thinking about that, but what if you pulled it out on the longer side (side the case opens) instead of one of the short sides?

Thats what I was meaning the longside. However you could do another fold on the top side folding back to the fans in a 90' angle and this would then give more support along that very long edge.. and once you secured the fans on it, it should be more than stiff enough.

I already thought about that approach for my top radiator, after thinking a 400mm slide dust filter coming out the back was going to be a real pain, what about just sliding out on the longside. I just thought two fans over such a large space was pushing it.. You could prototype and see if it would work. I sometimes make stuff from 165gsm paper, this normally give a good first impression if it will work or not.

I will run my system for the next couple days and listen for vibration noise.. so far nothing thumb.gif Which means I can move onto re-making the front and pushing my radiator flush with the face of box.
