Things are grinding to a halt yet again. mad.gif Mainboard Audio has decided to stop working, just getting a bit of crackle and hiss and no longer detects when a 3.5 audio plug is inserted. This made me look around at my machine and I noticed that the memory problem I had with my RIVE has come back yet again, only reporting 12GB of RAM instead of the correct 16GB. This is totally frustrating as I know PCCaseGear.com will do a 2 second check on it and say No Fault Found, as the memory works some times and then other times one of the DIMM just does not work. So far I have had a 80% failure rate with PCCaseGear.com, and then they make you jump through every hoop like a dog and then mess you around for as long as possible, so far this memory has been returned 2 times and caused me 6 months of total grief and frustration due to having an unstable machine. Corsairs own warranty ensures that all DIMMs purchased in a kit will work together or they will swap the kit over.

Got some new toys today, first off I got my second batch of MDPC-X sleeving so I can redo all my sleeving the heat shrink less way.

Even forked out for the Molex tool, which should make the task at hand much quicker.

But best of all I got my new 30" (760mm) Sheet Metal Bender.. oh yeah.. the things I will be able to make with this, of course I would like to do some mods to it tongue.gif

Now the only problem is that I don't have a computer.. Yet again parts from PCCasegear that have failed, Memory is only showing 12GB instead of the full 16GB and I can not pin point which memory DIMM, so the 4 set is off back to Corsair. Mainboard has a dead audio port, off back to ASUS. CPU is being sent back tomorrow to see if this is also a cause to the memory allocation problem. 80% failure rate from this supplier, the only things that have not failed are the compression fittings and radiator fluid, so far one long year of painful returns.

All I wanted was my computer ready for my 40th, which is tomorrow ... and it looks like its going to take 4 more weeks.

Nils from MDPC-X even drew me a nice little dog for me. thumb.gif

You can find lots about this mod if you look through the [Official] Corsair Graphite Club and more specifically around Page 859 where you can see how some people have done the mod.

It is rather easy though, all you need do is remove the rivets with a 1/8th drill bit around the 5 1/4" Drive bay and there are a couple connected on the mainboard tray, but this would take no more than 15 minutes to do. All you will need is a drill, pliers and a drill bit. When you drill the rivet use the pliers to stop the rivet spinning around, these will be like drilling in butter as they are only aluminum.

It is easier to just line up the top fan first and then make some mounting holes, then do the same to the bottom fan. Of course you will have to be willing to surrender you 5 1/4" drive bay. But if you dont like it you can always just rivet it back in place.

I hope this helps. thumb.gif

Changed the name of this build from Morpheus to Jinx (wikipedia), as nothing has gone right with this build. So far every electrical part supplied from PC Case Gear has been returned due to being faulty, FrozenCPU sent me a faulty Bitspower D5 Extreme waterblock which was cross threaded and neither FrozenCPU or Bitspower would replace.

Out of the past 11 months, my system has only been usable for 5 months as the parts have been with a supplier under warranty.

So today I got told from PCCaseGear that my memory got sent to the wrong address, and my mainboard has come back from ASUS but they did not repair it correctly so I will have to wait another 2 weeks for this repair to be done, so that will make it one month for this RA.

So clearly this build is Jinxed. sadsmiley.gif

How funny are PCCaseGear, after giving them an ear bashing.. and pointing out that they have had my parts for 6 months and I have had for 5 months, they worked out that there was nothing wrong with my ASUS RIVG audio that just got fixed by ASUS as they where testing the system with a faulty CPU.. yeah right rolleyes.gif.. maybe they think it is maths, two negatives equal a positive. So if we test two faulty parts it magically becomes fixed. sozo.gif
