That or its my gtx 570, but I think my graphics card is fine for now. I'm going to put the majority of my Blame on my processor. Should I update to an intel in the future or amd? I've always went cheap when it comes to Processors but isn't Intel the better brand with the better processors or is that a Myth? Which brand should I go with for my next cpu/motherboard combination? And how much more powerful can I get? Of course I'm looking at more affordable price range, so 1 thousand dollar CPU's are out the question. Maybe a 300 dollar cpu with 100 dollar motherboard? Or is that too cheap to go that route if I want more performance?

I try to cheat and overclock my processor to 4.0ghz thinking I'd get much better performance and I definitely do, but than I have to overclock my gtx 570 and both most generate a lot of heat because it smells like something is burning and than after 10-20 minutes of playing time I get the Blue Screen of Death. tongue.gif

So who do you think is to Blame? Would you Blame Both or mainly the CPU? I'm putting the Blame on the CPU personally, I don't think it's the Graphics Cards Fault but I could be wrong. Which one is the Slow Dog?

Could you list the make and model of your memory and motherboard?

The GTX 570 is just slightly below the current-gen GTX 660, so it's really not that bad for 1080p at reasonable settings. I think it's more the Phenom than anything. Right now, Intel does have the superior processors for gaming (and most other tasks) as compared to AMD's current offerings, so if you're going to buy a new CPU/mobo combo you should go with Intel.

Anyhow, if you're worrying about needing to spend $1000 for a good Intel CPU/mobo combo, don't. Right now, you can get top-notch mainstream gaming performance with a $230 CPU (Intel's i5-3570K) and a $150 motherboard (Gigabyte's GA-Z77X-UD3H). Slap on an aftermarket air cooler and you can likely get up to 4.5GHz for a little over $400 total.
