If you are still getting bluescreens then you have a hardware problem. Most likely ram, and I am 100% sure that has lifetime warranty.

If you are bent on upgrading i would be willing to buy your cpu, mobo, ram.

Shame u dont want to overclock, you could probably get a nice boost out of that q6700 on a 750i

I see you already took that chip pretty high, i cant imagine your rig chugging on legends. Something has to be up, legends is not a demanding game.

wanted to say something similar. for that what you described. your rig is absolutely perfect. install a fresh windows and OC it.
maybe you want to buy a small SSD 64 -128gb 50-90$ to put LOL on it. and benefit from faster loading times.

edit: whats your cooling?!
if its bad my list would look like this:
- a new tower ( to see u gotta something new in yo new rig xD)
- a new cooler with 120mm fans..maybe one or two 120mm fans more if you dont have at least 3 of
em ( four fans if you want to use two on your cpu cooler for push/pull )
- a cheap fan controller, maybe 10$ to leave the fans constantly at around 700rpm
- an ssd like i said

u could get this all for under 200$ and have "almost!" a new rig that is cool and super silent thumb.gif

The only thing i do on the computer is watch movies, browse "videos", and leagues of legends.

My current setup is (haven't touch anything for awhile)
Q6700 @ stock speed/voltage.
8GB of DDR2 rams @ 800 mhz.
750i motherboard from XFX i think
And GTX 570 w/ 2gb memory.

To be honest, that system is more than enough for what you want to do, and you aren't going to get any major "bang for your buck" on trying to upgrade any aspect of it for $200 or less.

Just save your data to a flash/hard drive, then reformat and reload the OS. After 5 years, an OS can get pretty screwed up and start to cause issues like you are experiencing, and odds are, just a simple reformat and reinstall will take care of it.

like i said..

for example a 120gig SSD is 90$, 10$ fan controller, 40$ new heatsink, 40$ for a new tower and you have 20$ left for two more 120mm fans.
best chances for building a nice rig for low cash.

I dont think so, GTX 570 is nothing to shake a stick at and CS GO is not a demanding game either.

Im thinking tons of active processes and tasks maybe some malware thrown in there, slowing things down.

I just dont see that machine not being able to handle a source game at any res.

We also dont know why such a high single monitor res, is he down sampling, using an ultra high res monitor? Other factors are in play just not cpu performance .

I'd reuse the OS COA code, case, PSU, and optical drive. Then, I'd use this build; http://pcpartpicker.com/p/HF6X

I would suggest two options:

First would be to put the money aside and add to it when you can, keep yourself from spending it and when you have something closer to $800/$1000 then you can start looking at buying new parts. With the next gen of CPU's right around the corner you may get lucky enough to see a drop in Ivy Bridge chips if not new then in the used market. But if you've made it 5 years then you can make it 6, just start saving.

Second would be to buy an SSD, start with a fresh install of everything, and go from there. It won't increase your gaming performance but it will affect your overall interaction with the computer/software.
