3820 High Temps

Hi OCN,

I am running Prime 95 Blend on my I7 3820 at stock speed and bios settings on a Rampage IV Formula (after Evga x79 SLI snafu).

I am currently using a H100 on Medium fan speed and am getting temps around 56-58C under 100 percent load? Arent these temps kinda high. One possible cause could be the crap Antec tim I used until I can find my tubes of MX4, but I dont expect it would make that much of a difference.

Suggestions or does the 3820 run a little hot?

Seems about right, might just a tad high.
I've had very bad luck with silver based TIM on the H100 (so has one other I know of). If MX-4 is silver based, I'd highly recommend you chose a non-silver based TIM. Consider: Arctic Silver CMQ2-2.7G Céramique 2 Tri-Linear Ceramic Thermal Compound http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100017

MX4 is Non-Silver. Right now im using Crappy Antec Silver Based Formula 5 that I use when rebuilding OEM PCs because my tubes of MX4 have disappeared.... I think i'm gonna throw my H100 into my backup rig and go full out water with a Swiftech 220 and GPU Block.
