hi everyone!

sorry its been so long since i've updated the build log.

I did some benchmarking today in Valley 1.0, Heaven 4.0, and Firestrike. During benchmarks the two cards were mostly above 96% usage, and never went over 1.4GB memory usage, and temps were always below 53% on both cards.

I also overclocked the CPU a couple of days ago... so my final result is 4.4Ghz @1.29Vcore with temps 77-87-86-82

Here is the validation:
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2746695
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/682y2/

And here is a few pictures when I did the benchmarks.

We have a lot of the same components, same chip, mobo, ram, ssd, and case. Except that your water cooling makes my setup look scrawny – you have a very nice rig there.

1.29v is pretty high for 4.4, not crazy high, but definitely above average. Don’t know your level of oc experience, but are you sure all your bios settings are optimized?

I think there may be a problem with the cpu cold plate installation because those temps seem high. Before I delidded I was able to run 4.7 at 1.345v with just an H100i and my max core temp was 88c over a 12 hour Prime95 run. Maybe too much or too little TIM, or not good contact. What does the TIM fingerprint show when you pull it off?

Thanks for the reply. The only things I changed in bios was vcore, and multiplier. In regards to installation of the water block I put quite a bit of thermal compound in the line method of course. The only thing I wasn't sure of in the installation was which thumb screws to use. I used the longer ones.

My gpu temps are great and I'm fine with them. I was thinking to decrease my pll voltage and see how I go.

Also my ram is running at its rated voltage 1.66 @ 2400MHz.

I just think I didn't get lucky in the silicon lottery. Which is a shame.

What's your stats on the cpu justanoldman?

You have your bios setup incorrectly. I can help with that since we have the same setup.

Go to the thread linked below, copy all the settings, just use XMP for the ram so it will default to the proper rated timings and voltage. The screen shots in the thread are from the Asus P8Z77 line, but us ROG users use the same ones listed. Anything not listed as changed in the guide you can just leave on default.
http://www.overclock.net/t/1291703/ivy-bridge-overclocking-guide-asus-motherboards

Follow the testing procedure in the guide, and see where you can stabilize 4.4. My good chip does 5.0 at 1.41v, and my other needs 1.41v also but for 4.8. I followed the guide above and had no trouble finding my oc. Both my chips are delidded though, so that allows me to go higher on the voltage and multiplier.

Idk how to make a sig rig lol. I recently got some of my bitspower fittings. Phobya 250 balancer and 655+EK pump top coming in soon. Trying to sell off my Rampage IV Formula. Probably go for the Extreme or a Maximus V Extreme or Maximus V Formula.
Someone is keen to trade a sealed 3960x with my R4F lol. If that goes through, it will be the best deal evar! Then I will buy a RIVE LOL...

hi everyone.... so sorry for not updated this thread. I've been really busy with work and uni... and i recently got sick over the past week. But i woke up this morning and decided to take some final pictures of my build.

I recently bought a ASUS PB278Q 1440p monitor.. and i can honestly say it is one of best purchases to date. To anyone who has enough graphics power to run a 1440p+ monitor i say go for it and you will not regret your purchase. I combined this with my old XL2370 so now im running dual screen, the asus for gaming etc... and the other for monitoring temps, precision etc.

So here are some final pictures.. hope you enjoy... and i thank everyone for following my build, it's been quite a journey of learning curves as it was my first watercooled build.

If anyone needs some advice on any of the components i chose, just PM me and I'm more than happy to help you out thumb.gifsmile.gif
