Honestly...after BF3 it could die. That game is so horrible compared to BF2142 or even BF2. I am reasonably certain I will not be purchasing BF4 even at discount sale prices. Not unless they do some major changes.
I hope these low sales let the gaming world catch on what micro transactions in a single player game will do. People griping about Origin are just griping...that wasn't a large effect on the game's sales. Most people don't care about Origin. The game's game play reviews are rather decent...the screen shots are rather decent...the first two games started a pretty good sized following...why did it tank?
Micro transactions in a single player game.
I am thinking that not many people want much to do with that. Micro transactions in MMOs...well, that is just going to happen so they might as well legitimize it and try to make some revenue off of it rather then have people going through third parties to buy money and items. However, I know I would just be sickened to my core if I even saw an optional purchase in a single player game. The DLCs and map packs...I can live with those because you don't see them in the game beyond a message like "The Fluffy Unicorn Goes to Visit His Uncle DLC is required to access this area". However, something to allow me to buy ammo? Might as well popup a message "Insert 25 cents to continue". Yes I can ignore it, but it is almost like telemarketers calling on the phone. I can ignore their calls too, but that doesn't make it any less annoying.
No thank you. I will not purchase any game that has genuine micro transactions in a single player aspect...ever.Edited by Vagrant Storm - 3/5/13 at 8:45am
