Crysis 3 working smoothly on a GT 430 - Page 4

I think this all depends on how you see smooth,

A friend of mine once said he allway plays GTA San Andreas on a laptop,

when i whas at his house, the game was at 640x480, all low quality and 15FPS.

I think it all depends on what a person see as smooth

Thread Starter
I have another theory: is it possible that his GT 430 might have additional "GPC"'s (as nVidia calls them "Graphics Processing Clusters") and SM's enabled by mistake ? I guess if it would then it would require more power, but this card doesn't have a connector to the supply

then it is his perception that is in question, not the performance of his system ? but what about what he told about 20-23 fps ? that could have been when his settings were at lowest and then he uploaded the image of his settings when they are at "very high" ? that would mean that he is cheating the information or as some people here like to call it "trolling" ?

No.

And even if it did, the cooler would probably not survive the extra heat output.

And to max out Crysis 3, even at 1280x800, it takes some serious horsepower.

I remember when we started raiding Molten Core back in Wow vanilla, it was 40 man raids aoeing the crap of everything and i was gaming with an old GF Ti4200... oh god i had like 2-4fps during some encounter. When we started BWL my comp nearly freezed everytime we get to the decompression room with all the little drakes. Then i bought a gf 6800 and i was WOW!! this is smooooooth rolleyes.gif Then one day i replaced it with a 8800GT and i was like headscratch.gif "How could i played for so long at such a ****ty fps thinking it was *smooth*

Like others have stated before the definition of *smooth* is very relative.
