How to fix a nick in paint?

Thread Starter
I made a front panel for the comp I am building. Painted in nice and good. Duplicolor white and clear over self etching primer. Cut and polished it. And my crappy luck, I happen to get a small nick by the side. Not sure how it happened. I tapped it all up with just the nick exposed. Sanded it down, shoot primer, and then paint. It came out looking crappier than a diarrhea. So on to take two now. But wonder if I am doing something horrendously wrong. If take two is fail, I will post some pics on what I am dealing with. This is my first paint job and I could potentially gone over the recommended thickness. No fish eye or runs though.

Touch up the nick with a paintbrush. Let it fully cure. Wet sand with 600 grit, then shoot it with some clear.
