as a huge BF2 fan...BF3 was fun but wasn't comparable due to dumbing it down for the new generation (no offense).

I will buy BF4 but definitely not day 1...I will wait for the Premium ed with access to all DLC because the base game itself is quite shallow. I would probably rather spend time playing Arma3

Ive played BF3 for over a year and only encountered tube usage a few times. And I used to play regular and hardcore TDM like every day..... thumb.gif
Its like crying that javelins are used to shoot down planes. Its a weapon used to kill. Cant handle or avoid it? Get better at that game/match style, or play another server. I encounter none of the typical complains in all of the following modes: Tank superiority, Conquest and the special Conquest types, Rush and the special Rush types, TDM, and a number more, especially like Scavenger. That is one of the more skilled modes. Theres plenty of BF3 that is absolutely fine thumb.gif
You want real issues to complain about? Look at pretty much the entire COD series..

And you, sir, you can put as much thumbs up as you want. BF3 will still be a letdown for many. Lil' joke thumb.gif
As soon as the copycat machine of EA engendres another DICE bastard with a new engine, BF3 will fall into oblivion, surely to be replaced by the next big thing shooter from DICE, Activision or whomever evolves this stagnant MP FPS market. Meanwhile, critics, MP hardcore gamers and just plain gamers are looking forward for the next Mirror's Edge. And for the demise of EA and the freedom of their few good developers as soon as possible. EA was great and regained part of that greatnes in 2007-2009. Now must die or don't interfere with people trying to make digital art+entertainment and not another cash machine.

Gameplay and teamplay wise they're not equals. BF3 feels a lot dumbed down. Grind oriented unlocks system. No commander(snif eek.gif). Smaller and simpler maps, plus 32-64 players scrammed in those maps, it's not a Battlefield, it's just a clusterfukk fragfest. I can go on, but less equals more biggrin.gif

Gotta cut your rough corners to sell as much as you can, to get people to buy dedicated servers and not quit in frustration cause they can't get good quickly. Actually this isn't bad at all(nothing against making your game accesible), but when it effects on IPs, it's bad for all, for the company responsible for the game and for the people playing it.

PS: Don't even start me on the community, gameplay and teamplay. That is what has been dumbed down the most. gunner2.gif

Yawn, BF3 was a slightly better Call of Duty imho and very disappointing. As a long time fan of the BF series (I have everything from BF1942-BF3) I probably won't get BF4

I believe BF2 will remain the best Battlefield

If you continue to be ignorant sure then by all means end the conversation, other than the commander (which was a tker and 99% retarded) and voip which nobody used anyways (ironically each server had ts servers like bf3 which people would talk on) what other teamplay elements have been removed?

Now lets talk about teamplay elements that have been added; soflam, citv station, mav, javelin; if you do not want to use these assets its your loss, however when teams use these assets they pretty much win and its simply down to teamwork.

Lets talk about some gameplay elements from bf2 that are thank god not in bf3

-crappy gunplay
-nade spam
- op jets that could bomb areas without even having to aim or try
- commander dropping artillery on friendly troops

Did we play the same game?

Bf2 was the definition of a grind it took forever to level up and to unlock those 12 weapons, people literally bought special forces just for the free unlocks, even after they nerfed the grind it was still bad

99% of the time the commander was useless or a teamkiller who would drop arty on his own guys for the lols. Maybe 1% of the time there was a commander that actually did something.

Let me guess you did not play the armored kill maps, caspian, firestorm or any of the medium sized maps in aftermath but to judge the game solely on metro? While in bf2 the largest maps tampa highway, fu she pass and operation cleansweep and guess what? they were the least played maps in bf2 if played at all while there were countless 24/7 karkand maps on infantry only showing that the battlefield community was dumbing itself down long before bf3.

Too many people viewing bf2 through rose tainted glasses and do not know what the hell they are talking about.

All very true. The community of little kids fraggin their little gradeschool hearts away on metro choke points just makes me cringe.

All the game is - is a grindfest for flashy unlocks. Funny tho, every weapon in BF3 feels weak, spongy and almost identical.

Shoot a few weapons in BFBC2 (m416/xm8/pp2000/mg36) you can FEEL the difference, it actually feels like you're shooting someone, the bullets connect, the gun responds.

I'm actually really disappointed that I dont like BF3, i really tried to like it, a lot.
